| Details:This position is located in Salem, Oregon and relocation would be required.Statesman Journal Media seeks a Controller/Director of Operations to oversee and manage all financial and accounting, circulation, production, and IT operations as well as safety programs, building maintenance, and commercial printing. The controller/director of operations is expected to play an integral role in developing strategies to grow revenue and audience, create strategic partnerships and to find efficiencies to reduce expenses and/or improve workflow. Newspaper experience preferred. Directs all business office functions for Statesman Journal Media. Prepares and analyzes monthly, quarterly and annual financial forecasts and results. Coordinates preparation of the annual budge Analyzes current and prospective operations to identify opportunities to drive revenue, reduce expenses, create efficiencies and establish strategic partnerships Directs accounting and financial functions in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and policies. Exerts internal controls to protect company assets, ensures safe handling of cash and meets all legal and company requirements; ensures compliance with GAAP and F/ARM, Sarbanes Oxley Controls and Gannett’s internal audit standards. Contribute to strategic plans for improving long-term prospects for Statesman Journal Media. Oversee and coordinate all operations, including circulation, production, IT, commercial printing, safety and building maintenance. Coordinate with West Group directors and regional circulation sales hubs and GPC. Supervises 9 managers overseeing finance, circulation, production and IT. Analyzes, monitors and coordinates circulation sales initiatives and results, volumes, delivery service, and. production and distribution center performance, productivity, and efficiency. | ||||
